#ForeverFirstLady Michelle Obama Announces New Memoir and Book Tour

The news is out all over the social media airways. Michelle Obama is set to travel the road on a 10-city tour to promote her new memoir, Becoming, at a city near you. Her tour kicks off this November in her hometown of Chicago, then continues on to major cities including Los Angeles, Dallas, Detroit, and Washington, D.C.

The self-described “Girl from the South Side and former First Lady. Wife, mother, dog lover. Always hugger-in-chief” (from her Twitter handle) has had her many admirers in anticipation of the new memoir, which chronicles her stunning and deeply significant rise to national prominence from her humble beginnings on Chicago’s notorious South Side. The former first lady is beloved by millions who’ve been waiting patiently for the moment to read about her extraordinary life.

In Ms. Obama’s own words: “As I’ve written my memoir, Becoming, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about my story, mining it for the kinds of details I’d usually just brush off or even forget about—the narrow tail lights of my father’s car, a talk with my mother on a drive home, the heat of my daughter’s forehead when she ran a fever. And in doing so, I’ve realized that those surface-level ‘stats’ don’t really tell my story at all,” Obama writes.

“This fall, I’d like to share that fuller story with all of you on my book tour,” she says. “It’s the story of my humdrum plainness, my tiny victories, my lasting bruises, my ordinary hopes and worries. It’s the story of who I am, truly, and I’m proud of it—blemishes and all.”

Dubbed, “An Intimate Conversation with Michelle Obama,” the live tour hits Los Angeles for one night, Thursday, November 15th at 8pm. Tickets go on sale Friday, Sept. 21 at 10:00 am through Ticketmaster. Or visit for more information. Becoming is available for purchase on November 13.
